Chocolate Dipped Nuts Recipe

chocolate dipped nuts

Our quest for an M&M-free existence continues with this dark chocolatey treat.

So the other day a friend of mine was telling me ’bout a little ongoing brawl they’ve been havin’ with a bowl o’ peanut M&M’s. Whenever the contents began dwindling down, a well-meaning coworker would fill it right back up again.

So of course I had to come up with some healthier alternatives. Let’s see if this does the trick.

. . . . . . . . .

Chocolate Dipped Nuts Recipe

STEP ONE

If coconut oil is soft:

Mix together cocoa powder, coconut oil and maple syrup in small bowl to make a sauce.

If coconut oil is hard:

Heat it for a few moments on the lowest possible heat, stirring in cocoa powder a little at a time til it makes a thick sauce, then adding maple syrup. Go slowly. Heat for a moment, remove from heat to stir, heat for another moment, remove from heat to stir. If sauce gets runny, you’ve gone too far (and can pop it into the fridge for a minute to thicken)!

STEP TWO

Dip nuts in sauce one at a time and set on parchment paper covered plate (or on large plastic baggie). Sprinkle with coarse salt if you like. Refrigerate til hard, about 10 min.

STEP THREE (This is the easy part)

Enjoy!
